Mr Beppe de Vito, founder of haute cuisine il Lido at Sentosa, recently opens a new casual Italian dining concept Cafeteria il Lido at Suntec City’s basement. There are also plans to open more outlets in other parts of Singapore.
Cafeteria il Lido features an assortment of pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, soups and meat dishes priced affordably. The menu items are priced $20 and under, catering to the working professionals in the area. |
Says de Vito, “While il Lido’s chic fine-dining concept and spectacular views make it the ideal place to celebrate special occasions and share intimate meals, I wanted Cafeteria il Lido to be homely and rustic. A place you can pop by anytime of the day for a filling breakfast, lunch or dinner.”
He also revealed his plans to open another concept, a fast-food style eatery The Spaghetti Farm in Kuala Lumpur by early 2010. The restaurant will offer a wide variety of quick-serve pastas, homemade soups and salads.
“My hope is to make it easy and convenient for anyone to enjoy quality Italian food, and to be able to offer a suitable choice for every segment of the market from fine-dining to casual and fast food options,” he says.
