Interfood Indonesia visitorship hits record high

Interfood Indonesia saw its visitorship rise from 22,622 visitors for the 2007 edition to a record-breaking 29,572 visitors this year. This is a significant increase of 30.7 percent.

 

Held in conjunction with All Pack Indonesia 2008, the four day exhibition saw visitors mostly from the local industry. Overseas visitors numbered 352. They came from 27 countries namely, Australia, Austria, China, France, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Hungary, India, Iran, Sweden, Japan, Switzerland, Turkey and etc.

 

The exhibition which spanned 7,500sq m over two halls at the Jakarta Convention Center in Indonesia was attended by a total of 270 local and overseas exhibitors. There were 70 overseas exhibitors hailing from countries such as Italy, India, Korea, Taiwan, Germany, Malaysia, Singapore, and Australia. The 200 local exhibitors were mostly representatives of overseas principals and distributors.

 

Key product categories featured include bakery and confectionery, food ingredients, herbal & health, food and hospitality, technology, additives, raw materials, services, and equipment and supplies.

 

Along the sidelines of the exhibition, seminars exploring pertinent industry issues were held. Of note was the enlightening “Gelato Industry in Indonesia is Growing, can you be the best in the industry?”, as well as the discussion on the cold chain system.

 

Interfood Indonesia will return for its ninth edition in 2009 from August 9 to 11.
